When we come to church our lives are enriched. When we become the church our world is enriched. The enemy wants to do anything he can to keep us from being effective as the church.
Gen 1:1-4 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. NIV
We are called to create positive cultures in the chaos of fallen world. A creative event is followed by chaos and we see God’s response was to hover & speak creatively in the face of chaos and darkness. “Hovering” gives the idea of a protective mother bird protecting her young.
Chaos tends to pursue creative events in our fallen world. The devil looks for any creative spark of God in our lives and works to insert chaos. If the devil has his way every creative event in any of our lives will be destroyed by attacks of chaos.
Eph 5:1-2 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. NIV
We live in a fallen, broken world with a call to help fallen broken people! When people are kind to us its easy to give them kindness. It’s when they’re unkind that we must give what God gives us instead.
The fallen world is inclined toward destruction. If all humanity would simply surrender to the loving, serving, giving nature of Jesus the world would be a better place!
Ezek 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. NIV
When we cooperate withour assgnmnt the world becomes a better place – why? Because we’re the seed of Abraham, the expression of God’s blessing in the earth!
