Called to be Contagious

Attitudes are contagious!!! God’s guidelines for Israel in preparing for war involved addressing and removing toxic attitudes of fear.

Deut 20:8 Then the officers shall speak further to the people and say, 'Who is the man that is afraid and fainthearted ? Let him depart and return to his house, so that he might not make his brothers' hearts melt like his heart.' NAS

Recently we actually found a three foot long snake in Lexi’s bedroom. It was coiled up on the floor behind a chest so I didn’t know if it was ready to strike or what it would do. Lexi gave me a toy robot claw to pick it up and I felt fairly ill-equipped to be a snake handler at the moment. When I finally got around behind the chest and was able to pick it up the girls all started screaming, the dog started barking and I had an emotional rush as if I was in the fight of my life.

Attitudes are contagious!!!

Neuroscience research  shows that when two people are in each other's company, their brain waves will begin to look nearly identical. Just being next to someone actually aligns your brain with him or her. This is scientific proof that attitudes are contagious!

Who you hang around really does matter! Saul feared giants so Saul’s men feared giants. David killed giants so David’s men killed giants.

When you get around people who have confidence and believe they will be used mightily by God it will awaken faith and courage!

Stop disqualifying yourself! You’re not only affecting you but you’re affecting those around you! Rise up and be everything God’s called you to be and in doing so others will emerge by your side in strength and confidence as well!

Jesus didn’t come to call the equipped. Jesus came to equip the called. Everybody feels like they cannot do what God asks them to do when God introduces them to what He’s called them to do. Nobody in the Bible ever said, “Finally! Finally God has seen my amazing potential!” Everybody who answers the call of God starts by feeling inadequate to accomplish what God has called him or her to do. This is the essence of humility and positions us to rely on God rather than ourselves.

The educational process for the Jews began around age 6 at which time children begin memorizing the Torah.  By age 10 they would have memorized the first five books of the Bible. At that stage the best of the best would move on to the next level of study memorizing the entire Old Testament and then apply to study under a Rabi if deemed qualified.

The rabbi would grill them with questions to determine if they were worthy enough to become their student.  These students weren’t just coming to a rabbi to learn the law in general from this rabbi but rather they were coming to learn his take on the Law or his interpretation of the law.  The rabbi would bring expressions and dissertations as an expression of the law according to this particular rabbi.  A rabbi’s interpretation was known as his yoke.  The students were literally coming to ask if they could take upon themselves his yoke and become his expression of the law.  It wasn’t just the pursuit of training from this person but it was the pursuit of becoming like this person.  You would literally become the expression of his life and teaching.

The disciples obviously hadn’t been the best of the best because Jesus found them working when he called them. They hadn’t advanced and hadn’t selected a rabbi they desired to study under. This gives significance to Jesus words in John 15.

John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last--and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. NIV

Your dysfunction and your mistakes are not powerful enough to disqualify you from God’s call!

So you've made mistakes and you aren’t where you want to be. So what! Keep writing a story that will inspire others to move beyond their disappointment to discover their destiny because they’ve watched you!

The plan isn’t to merely making you free. The plan is to make you a FREEDOM FIGHTER making others free as well!

People had been trying to run a mile in under four minutes for almost 2000 years. Since ancient games at foot of Mount Olympus The 4-minute mile was considered not merely unreachable but according to physiologists of the time, dangerous to the health of any athlete who attempted to reach it. On Friday, May 7th, 1954, Roger Bannister crossed the finish line with a time of 3 minutes, 59.4 seconds.

Just weeks after Banister broke this barrier it was broken again. 10 yrs later a high school student would break the barrier and today over 1,000 people have done it. Did humanity get faster? When one person breaks a barrier their breakthrough becomes a convincing proof that others can accomplish the same. Your story is a powerful influence in helping others get past the limitations of their lives.

We are called to break through barriers and take others with us as we go!!!

Jesus came to awaken the call of God in the earth for heaven to be released here and now!

Have you ever come to church and it was the last thing you wanted to do was come into this place of worship because you were discouraged responding to her whatever it maybe? This happened to me when Lexi was in the hospital.

In all honesty the last place I wanted to be was standing in this house of worship mustering up the strength to preach a message each week. When I would show up not even wanting to worship at times, your worship awakened worship within me!

In that place of worship suddenly my faith would be restored and my fight would be in tact! The worship of our church family is incredibly significant in my life. Our worship is significant in the lives of others.

We bring GP2RL: Take personal responsibility to present the most inspired vibrant you possible to your world this week every single day!
