Flourishing Lives

God’s plan is to awaken his dreams in our hearts causing our lives to flourish for generations to come.

In Genesis Man’s mistake produced God’s immediate promise of love and hope to rescue humanity. In Exodus God delivered his people, introducing them to his truth. Then in Leviticus he established them in healthy expressions of worship. In Numbers God matured and prepared his people to live beyond rebellion, complaining, and disbelief avoiding the consequences that would result. In Deuteronomy God releases his people prepare the next generation to carry on the legacy of God’s promise in the earth!

God is immediate to respond to our mistakes, delivering us and introducing us to his Truth establishing us in healthy expressions of worship. God matures us to help us learn to live beyond rebellion, complaining and disbelief. We are then to prepare the next generation to carry on the legacy of God’s promises to their generation and gen’s after them.

Deut 6:6-9 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. NIV

God is our father who wants the very best for our lives!

Deut 5:29-33 Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever...33 Walk in obedience to all that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. NIV

God wants his very best for you but the decision truly is yours. God has this incredible ability to take very little and do a whole lot with it. Ever notice that God didn’t really set the bar very high?

He says we are to walk in obedience so we can be blessed. When you really take a close look at The Ten Commandments you see they don’t require superhero abilities. It’s like God gave the most basic, bottom line expectations for people to live together. Don’t kill each other. Don’t steal each other’s stuff. Don’t lie to each other.

Then if we devote ourselves to a very low bar that any small child should understand God blesses us like crazy!

Here is the thing – God not only made this simple but then he came (as a word from God) to initiate a conversation with us to talk to us all the time so he can help us.

What is the inclination of your heart? Where do these inclinations come from? Thoughts are like seeds and attitudes are like roots.

Jesus was sentenced to die by crucifixion between two thieves. One was insulting Jesus and rejecting God while the other was embracing Jesus and pursuing God.

The guy who was pursuing God said our sins got us here but he’s done nothing wrong.

Recognizing our sinful state next to sinless Jesus positions us in the grip of grace! #destinyokc

Ever have car troubles and as soon as you got it to the mechanic it started working fine – then when you leave the presence of the one who could fix it the problem starts again? Finally when the prob shows up in the presence of the mechanic you are so happy!

As soon as we are willing to bring our sinful lives into the presence of Jesus He immediately starts fixing what’s broken.
