Jesus in Genesis

Jesus in Genesis: Foundation For True Life

Every book of the Bible speaks of Jesus! Jesus himself said this when speaking to the Pharisees.

John 5:39  You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me. NIV

There are 66 books of the Bible and today we start with Genesis.

Genesis has 50 chapters: 1-11 speak of four major events.

1.    Creation
2.    The Fall
3.    The Flood
4.    Tower of Babel

Chapters 12-50 speak of 4 key people:

1.    Abraham
2.    Isaac
3.    Jacob
4.    Joseph

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The 4th word of the original Hebrew text has been omitted from English translations because it is not actually a word. It’s just two letters, the 1st and the last letters of the Hebrew Alphabet.

Rev 1:11 (Jesus declares) I am Alpha & Omega, the 1st & the last…

ABRAM: was blessed and a source of blessing to fallen humanity (Gen 12:3).

ISAAC: Abraham’s only son. Placed on wood as a sacrifice.

JACOB:

Gen 28:16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it."  NIV (Heavenly revelation made him God consciousness)

Jacob becomes aware that there was communication between heaven and earth and did something very interesting as a result.
