Jesus lived in the constant state of superior information. Five loaves and two fish could feed 5,000 people in his world. This was because the input of his life was not limited to the circumstances he saw. The Bible prophesied this would be the case in Isaiah.
Isa 11:2-3 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD—and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears. NIV
Jesus then confirmed the source of input in his life was beyond this world with his own words.
John 12:49-50 “I have not spoken on My own, but the Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it. 50 And I know that His command leads to eternal life. So I speak exactly what the Father has told Me to say.” NIV
Jesus didn’t speak from his own initiative. He spoke from the Father’s ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE.
We must practice moving beyond logical reactions to places of spiritual response.
There are a thousand voices screaming for your attention. Learning to listen to his voice in a quiet place of seeking God trains your spiritual senses to hear what you need to hear when temporal situations are trying to take control.
Steve Uppal‘s personal assistant, from England, was trying to cross the street in America. He simply did not know what to filter out and what to take in. Because he was taking in and filtering out the wrong things he could never find the courage to cross the street.
Selective sensory perception filters out the unimportant and filters in the important. SSP tells your brain the things you need to know and the things you need to ignore.
You have the ability to stand on a corner and process traffic sounds, people motion, traffic lights, crosswalk signs, etc and take in that which is essential while you neglect that which is irrelevant.
Without this ability sensory overload would cause you to live in a constant state of confusion as you would be processing things that diminish your functional capacity.
Filtering in wrong things causes you to live a diminished life lacking courage and lacking faith to climb mountains, conquer giants and possess God’s promises in your life and in your legacy.
The bumblebee violates the laws of aerodynamics. It’s wings are too small to cause it’s a big body to fly. The problem with the bumblebee is it has never had a conversation with the people who do not believe it should be able to fly. You need to stop having a conversation with the people who believe you should never fly. The input of your life should align with the eternal purposes of God.
2 Cor 4:18 So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen; for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. NIV
You have spiritual faculties, abilities and capacities God wants to activate! Last Sun night in our 3D class we went prophetically wild! People were sensing words from God left and right. Some people were writing down things God was speaking to them and then after they’d written them down other people were speaking the very words they’d written down as confirmation!
Every year we embrace the 40 Day challenge as a church family. Let’s truly press in as we launch into 2020 believing God for his Kingdom to expand!
