UNDERSTANDING THE SEASON: We have entered into unprecedented days for the church. God is not taken off guard so we must be intentional about moving from being on our heels to being on our toes. Our mission hasn’t changed. Love is our agenda and making disciples is our focus. God is speaking to His sons and daughters and it is important that we all take the time to hear his voice.

Amos 3:7-8 When the Lion of the tribe of Judah roars we can’t help but prophesy!

Isaiah 31:4-5 Speaks of a lion’s “growl” which also translates “meditate”. As we meditate on God’s Word the roar of God is awakened in our lives.

We’ve been starting our groups with the first and primary question that we want to continue even more specifically during this season:

DISCUSSION QUESTION:

1. Where are you reading in your Bible and what are you sensing from God?

1 Samuel 17:26 David asked the men standing near him, “What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?” NIV

1 Samuel 17:32 David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.” NIV

Jesus was the lion of the tribe of Judah and this lineage came through David. David wasn’t just fighting an enemy. David was fighting for a much greater promise.

DISCUSSION QUESTION:

2. Share a time when a decision you made or an action you took had much greater implication than you  realized at that moment (Good or Bad).

The Habits you form today determine the outcome of the battles you fight tomorrow! David was prepared for the fight while he was in the field. God will always use times of separation as times of preparation if we allow him to do so.

Even when we don’t see the hand of God we must learn to trust the heart of God!

“Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength.” -Spurgeon

DISCUSSION QUESTION:

3. Share a time in your life when God used a difficult season to prepare you for greater battles to come.

We Bring GP2RL Action Point:

Make it a point this week to ask somebody to share with you a time when God brought them through difficulty. Celebrating God’s faithfulness this way strengthens us all.
