Blog: Right Side Up Finances

Proverbs 15:6 Great and priceless treasure is in the house of the [consistently] righteous one [who seeks godly instruction and grows in wisdom], But trouble is in the income of the wicked one [who rejects the laws of God]. AMP

Money without wisdom is trouble. This is why I don’t want my children to get my valuables before they get my values.

Shaquille O’Neal reportedly has a net worth of $500m, “It takes two degrees to touch the cheese.” Having financial resources without having financial wisdom produces chaos.

Michael Jackson made over a billion dollars as the King of Pop. I was amazed to find out his net worth was (-$500m) at the time of his death. He was spending an estimated $20 to $30 million more than he made every year.

If your outgo exceeds your income, then your upkeep will be your downfall. Most people simply think they need more money. You may or may not need more money but we all definitely need more wisdom. More money without more wisdom will never solve our problems. This the problem with just giving money to people holding signs on the side of the road.

We want to help them but giving them money really isn’t the answer they need. If they don’t fix their way of thinking then more money only further establishes patterns that got them there in the first place. If they don’t fix the mind then no matter what kind of blessing comes their way it just leaks from their life. It seems to be pretty easy for us to understand this when it comes to a homeless person. But what about you and what about me?

A local news agency posted just this past week that the average credit card debt in OKC is $12,571 with an average interest rate of 24%. This means $250 goes to interest before paying any principle on that card! You do not need a $250 payment coming out of your income just vanishing into thin air.

Giving financial resources without equipping people to have financial wisdom is not wise. Socialism in our country is born from the idea of voting people in who will print more money and extend more credit to pay for our mistakes.

The life you live tomorrow is connected to choices you make today. You’ll never leave a legacy until you first live a legacy.

Debt is a four-letter word, and you can conquer this way of thinking but it takes devotion, it takes honesty and it takes accountability.

NO MATTER WHAT AGE OR STAGE OF LIFE YOU’RE IN. START SOMEWHERE. DO SOMETHING! This isn’t about your life as much as it is about your legacy!

Let’s learn together!

Everyone should be growing in wisdom no matter what stage or what age. Class is coming and that will be great for some of you but EVERYONE should be growing in wisdom!

Proverbs 15:6 Great and priceless treasure is in the house of the [consistently] righteous one [who seeks godly instruction and grows in wisdom], But trouble is in the income of the wicked one [who rejects the laws of God]. AMP

15:16 Better is a little with the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the Lord Than great treasure and trouble with it.

Proverbs 15:22 Without consultation and wise advice, plans are frustrated, But with many counselors they are established and succeed. AMP

15:27 He who profits unlawfully brings suffering to his own house, But he who hates bribes [and does not receive nor pay them] will live.

Proverbs 15:32 He who neglects and ignores instruction and discipline despises himself, But he who learns from rebuke acquires understanding [and grows in wisdom]. AMP

16:3 Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].

16:8 Better is a little with righteousness Than great income [gained] with injustice.

16:11 A just balance and [honest] scales are the Lord’s;

All the weights of the bag are His concern [established by His eternal principles].

16:16 How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!

And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver.

16:19 It is better to be humble in spirit with the lowly

Than to divide the spoil with the proud (haughty, arrogant).

17:1 Better is a dry morsel [of food served] with quietness and peace Than a house full of feasting [served] with strife and contention.

17:2 A wise servant will rule over the [unworthy] son who acts shamefully and brings disgrace [to the family]

And [the worthy servant] will share in the inheritance among the brothers.

Proverbs 17:10 A reprimand goes deeper into one who has understanding and a teachable spirit Than a hundred lashes into a fool. AMP

18:9 He who is careless in his work Is a brother to him who destroys.

18:11 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall [of protection] in his own imagination and conceit.

18:16 A man’s gift [given in love or courtesy] makes room for him And brings him before great men.

19:1 Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity

Than a [rich] man who is twisted in his speech and is a [shortsighted] fool.

Proverbs 19:2 Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge, And he who hurries with his feet [acting impulsively and proceeding without caution or analyzing the consequences] sins (misses the mark). AMP

19:6 Many will seek the favor of a generous and noble man, And everyone is a friend to him who gives gifts.

Proverbs 19:8 He who gains wisdom and good sense loves (preserves) his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good and prosper. AMP

Proverbs 19:17 He who is gracious and lends a hand to the poor lends to the Lord, And the Lord will repay him for his good deed. AMP

The number one killer in our world is contaminated water. $10 billion solves world’s water problem. $30 billion solves world hunger for the ENTIRE PLANET.

If North America tithed for just one year = 10% of their income it would be $150 billion!!! A TRANSFORMED WORLD IS ON OTHER SIDE OF CHURCH’S OBEDIENCE.

Americans spent $727 Billion on Xmas in 2019 returning $100 Billion in unwanted items after Christmas. It is fascinating just how empowered our nation is to change the world!

19:21 Many plans are in a man’s mind, But it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand (be carried out).

19:22 That which is desirable in a man is his loyalty and unfailing love, But it is better to be a poor man than a [wealthy] liar.

19:24 The lazy man buries his hand in the [food] dish,

But will not even bring it to his mouth again.

20:4 The lazy man does not plow when the winter [planting] season arrives; So he begs at the [next] harvest and has nothing [to reap].

20:13 Do not love [excessive] sleep, or you will become poor; Open your eyes [so that you can do your work] and you will be satisfied with bread.

20:14 “It is [almost] worthless, it is [almost] worthless,” says the buyer [as he negotiates the price]; But when he goes his way, then he boasts [about his bargain].

20:17 Food gained by deceit is sweet to a man,

But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel [just as sin may be sweet at first, but later its consequences bring despair].

20:21 An inheritance hastily gained [by greedy, unjust means] at the beginning Will not be blessed in the end.

20:23 Differing weights are detestable and offensive to the Lord, And fraudulent scales are not good.

21:5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance and advantage,

But everyone who acts in haste comes surely to poverty.

21:6 Acquiring treasures by a lying tongue

Is a fleeting vapor, the seeking and pursuit of death.

Proverbs 21:17 He who loves [only selfish] pleasure will become a poor man… AMP

The more self-absorbed you are the more problematic your life will be: money, marriage, friendship, career, etc.

21:20 There is precious treasure and oil in the house of the wise [who prepare for the future], But a short-sighted and foolish man swallows it up and wastes it.

21:26 He craves all the day long [and does no work],

But the righteous [willingly] gives and does not withhold [what he has].
